Dr Clare Will CV You Now

Applying for jobs is stressful. Would you like some help?

  • Does the thought of writing a cover letter make you want to crawl into bed and never get out again?

  • Has it been 84 years since you last updated your CV?

  • Do you desperately want to write a job application but get freaked out any time you try?

  • Are you thinking about a career change and wondering whether you even have any transferable skills? (You do. You definitely do. Yes, I’m looking at you, every person in academia I’ve ever had this conversation with.)

Hello! I’m Clare, a coach, skills trainer and research communicator who’s had all the problems above. It turns out I’m pretty good at solving them, and at helping other people figure out how to solve them too. After multiple people came to me to ask for help with their CVs and job applications, I realised that this was a service I should probably be offering in addition to my general career and wellbeing coaching (and that its name should be a dreadful pun, obv).

Here’s what you get with Dr Clare Will CV You Now

  • A CV check-up with written feedback

  • A 90-minute video call to go through the CV feedback and talk about challenges and goals related to job hunting and job application (things like figuring out your transferable skills, identifying what kind of job you'd like, or building your confidence for job applications and interviews)

  • A follow-up email summarising the key topics we talked about, reflections, and suggested actions

  • And an option to add on up to three 60-minute accountability and body-doubling sessions so you have dedicated time and space to work on job hunting and job applications and a real-time check-in on your progress - plus (if you need it) gentle emotional support and someone to ask quick questions or bounce ideas off. Each accountability and body-doubling session starts with a 10-minute chat to set and talk through a goal for the session, then 40 minutes to work on your goal, and finally another 10-minute chat for accountability check-in and troubleshooting. I stay on the call with you the entire time, but the 40 minutes you’re working on your goal will be mostly mics-off, though you can unmute at any time if you want a quick bit of support from me, and cameras on or off as you prefer.

If you’ve not worked with me before, please start by booking a free 30-minute get-to-know-you call - it’s important that we figure out together whether this is the right support for you and whether I’m the right person to provide it.

Fees (yes, there’s a sliding scale)

The standard cost for Dr Clare Will CV You Now is:

  • £250 for the CV check-up, 90 min video call and follow-up email

  • £40 for each accountability and body-doubling session

However, I want to make it possible for as many people as possible to access CV and job application support, so I have a sliding scale of fees.

If you’re on a low income, have a fixed-term employment contract, or are otherwise under financial pressure, the price is:

  • £175 for the CV check-up, 90 min video call and follow-up email

  • £30 for each accountability and body-doubling session

The sliding scale works on an honour system so I won’t ask for an explanation or proof. If you say you need it, that’s good enough for me. And if you are able to afford standard-cost sessions, you’re also making it possible for me to offer lower-cost sessions to other clients, so thank you!

If you want to book a lower-cost version of Dr Clare Will CV You Now, just use the code SLIDING-SCALE-CV at checkout and it will reduce the price to £175.

If an upfront payment of £175 is still financially inaccessible for you, you’re welcome to drop me an email and we can discuss a payment plan.

Please note that the accountability and body-doubling sessions are only available to book once we’ve completed the 90 min video call - I’ll share the booking link with you in the follow-up email.
