Research communications and engagement consultancy

Need some quick advice or support on a research communication or engagement problem?

Ever done an amazing piece of research that could make a real different in the world and then realised you don’t know how to make that happen? Or tried to make it happen and realised you need some help?

Good news! I’m a former researcher with over a decade’s experience of making healthcare research exciting, accessible, impactful and useful for audiences of all kinds, from patients to policymakers - and I’d love to do the same with your research.

If you’re feeling a bit stuck with research engagement for a specific project and need some help getting unstuck, I offer 60- and 120-minute research communication clinics.

If you’re asking yourself any of the following questions, I can help!

  • How do I do research communication?

  • How do I do research engagement?

  • How do I develop a research communications and engagement plan?

  • How could I make my research engagement plan better?

  • How do I embed equality, diversity and inclusion in my research engagement plan?

  • What should I write in the public engagement section of a grant application?

  • How can I make my research exciting for different audiences?

  • How can I maximise the impact of my research through communication and engagement?

With a clinic, you’re buying 60 or 120 minutes of my time and expertise. This time can be spent on discussion over video call, asynchronous work (like reading over a document to provide feedback), or a combination of both - you’ll be asked about this during the booking process.

Please note, if you want a video call it will need to take place in the timeslot you’ve booked, but asynchronous work can be scheduled for another time if you prefer. For example, you may want a brief video call to discuss asynchronous work you'd like me to take on in a week’s time.

Need someone to plan, deliver or assess research communication and engagement?

Clinics are for advice and brief support for researchers doing their own research communication and engagement. However, if you’re an individual, team or organisation looking to outsource that work, I can help with that too!

This could be for you if you need:

  • Specialist planning for research engagement

  • Specialist support with research communication for different audiences

  • Specialist advice on research communication and engagement to help you figure out ways to make it effective without being over-complicated or time-consuming.

Book a free discovery call or drop me an email if you’d like to discuss your needs.
