Support for you, not just your research

My wellbeing and career support services

  • 1:1 coaching

In academia, the emphasis is almost always on the research, not on the people doing it. I flip that on its head, providing a grounded, nonjudgemental space in which I support you in figuring out what you want and how to go about making it a reality.

  • Wellbeing webinars and workshops

I’ll soon be offering group webinars and online workshops that draw on my expertise in research communications, psychology, and academia. Whether you want help dealing with the horrors that academia can throw at you, support in figuring out how (and when) to say no, or training to develop your research communications skills, I’ve got your back.

  • Tailored support for small groups

If you want something tailored to the specific career and wellbeing challenges that you’re facing, you can hire me to create and deliver something tailored to you - online or in-person.

  • "Clare's own experiences as an academic really influenced how she was able to empathise and value our lived experiences which was refreshing and very insightful. I would heartily recommend Clare to deliver your workshops as she really cares about your personal journey and supporting you in getting there on your own terms."

    - Dr Emma Ferguson-Coleman, Lecturer in Dementia and Ageing, GIAM, University of West London

  • "I found your academic wellbeing workshop powerful and liberating. We are all being pushed to speak loud of our successes and achievements but keep the struggles to ourselves even though we all know they are part of the journey. Being open about the challenges that come with the job at both professional and personal levels means we can learn from and support each other."

    - Dr Niki Chouliara, Lecturer in Psychology

  • “Clare brings a wealth of experience to her workshops and sessions but what comes through the most is that she cares about people. Her focus on your experience and wellbeing as a researcher is refreshing and stands out in what can be a very competitive and outcomes-focussed area.”

    - Dr Graham McClelland, Vice Chancellor’s Fellow, Northumbria University

  • "Your workshop on finding balance in academia was so good. I had some really meaningful discussions with researchers at different stages in their careers."
